About The Position

The Senior Manager, Kinship Care Services provides strategic leadership, program development, and direct support for kinship caregivers and the children they are raising. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating kinship care services that improve outcomes for families. The position ensures compliance with contract requirements, builds community partnerships, and leads staff and program initiatives while promoting organizational goals and values.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in behavioral health, child welfare, or related field required.
  • Strong knowledge of kinship care, family systems, and related service networks (e.g., child welfare, behavioral health, education, housing).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze program needs and outcomes to drive improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations, with commitment to inclusive practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support families and programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Social services and kinship care experience preferred.
  • Experience with program development, facilitation, and community outreach preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor program goals and strategies related to kinship care services.
  • Ensure program services are delivered in accordance with contract and funding requirements.
  • Provide guidance, assessments, and high-quality information and referral services to kinship caregivers.
  • Conduct intake assessments to determine eligibility and appropriate service referrals.
  • Facilitate support groups for kinship caregivers and grandparents.
  • Plan and coordinate family events, educational programming, and recreational activities.
  • Oversee program evaluations and applied research to assess needs and improve service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate program data, service documentation, and reporting in required systems.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and systems supporting kinship families (e.g., schools, child welfare, judicial, behavioral health).
  • Represent the organization through outreach, community presentations, and coalition participation.
  • Participate in collaborative groups such as the Arizona Kinship Care Coalition.
  • Manage program expenditures and contribute to budget planning.
  • Develop communications, including newsletters, reports, and funding-related materials.
  • Supervise Kinship Care Manager(s), Family Support Coordinator(s), and other team members; conduct performance evaluations and support staff development.
  • Participate in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes.
  • Support organizational initiatives, events, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Perform additional duties and strategic initiatives as assigned.
