About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the instructional program by providing leadership, direction, and coordination for fine arts curriculum and related activities; assisting and supporting school personnel in design, development and alignment of curriculum and instructional methodologies. Also responsible for providing information and serving as a resource to others; coordinating professional development programs; and implementing and maintaining services within established guidelines and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of job related experience with increasing levels ofIf not mentioned then an empty array. responsibility is required.
  • Possession of a Missouri Teacher Certificate.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.
  • Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems.
  • Knowledge based competencies required to perform the functions of the job include instructional procedures and practices; age appropriate student activities; safety practices and procedures; conflict resolution; and stages of child development/ behavior.
  • Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
  • Skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job, including: operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; performing standard bookkeeping; providing leadership; making effective oral presentations; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Writes standards and curriculum for seated Fine Arts courses.
  • Writes Fine Arts course standards and curriculum for Launch (online) and Explore Summer School.
  • Plans, prepares, organizes and presents professional development for K-12 Fine Arts teachers.
  • Plans and organize the K-8th grade “Any Given Child” experience.
  • Adopts and/or obtains and disseminates resources.
  • Coordinates District wide music and art events.
  • Coordinates staff assignments for K-5 Art and Music.
  • Manages the budget for K-12 Fine Arts.
  • Analyzes a variety of program and/or student related data identifying relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan of action that will provide direction and support to effectively address immediate and future needs.
  • Coordinates and provides leadership for curriculum development committees comprised of internal and external stakeholders ensuring appropriate representation of multiple constituents.
  • Participates in state and national professional educational organizations remaining current with educational developments and research.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to initiate and/or maintain effective relationships/partnerships with other school districts and appropriate organizations in order to maximize resources.
  • Collaborates with a variety of external personnel ensuring effective two-way communication in order to implement and/maintain effective programs and services.
  • Coordinates and supervises the processes for selection and allocation of instructional materials, supplies, and equipment ensuring resources are definable, repeatable, measurable, and predictable.
  • Develops and implements budgets achieving program goals and maximizing use of funds.
  • Disseminates information to teachers and principals regarding trends in fine arts curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments ensuring informed and effective practices.
  • Facilitates meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars conveying and/or gathering information.
  • Participates in meetings conveying and/or gathering information.
  • Prepares and disseminates a wide variety of materials providing reference, documenting activities, and conveying information.
  • Provides research-based professional learning for teachers and principals regarding fine arts in order to maximize the effectiveness of instruction.
  • Responds to inquiries resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel.
  • Transports a variety of equipment and supplies ensuring the availability of materials required to complete assignments.
  • Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
