About The Position

Provide leadership, coordination, and oversight for the District’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to ensure students develop the academic, technical, and employability skills needed for success in post-secondary education and the workforce. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification
  • Valid Texas Administrator Certificate
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of successful CTE teaching experience
  • Knowledge of CTE curriculum, TEKS, and state/federal regulations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze data and evaluate program effectiveness
  • Familiarity with workforce trends, certifications, and career pathways
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in decision making
  • Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
  • Ability to manage budget and personnel
  • Ability to implement policy and procedures
  • Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of district-wide CTE programs aligned with TEKS and workforce needs.
  • Ensure compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) and federal guidelines.
  • Support in the management of CTE budgets, grants (e.g., Perkins), and program resources.
  • Coordinate advisory committee meetings and stakeholder engagement.
  • Identify and define local job opportunities for students.
  • Recruit employers to hire students and work with the District to make opportunities for experience learning available.
  • Support teachers with curriculum, instruction, and professional development.
  • Ensure courses align with industry standards and career pathways.
  • Coordinate the expansion of internships, apprenticeships, and work-based learning experiences.
  • Support CTE teachers in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and classroom practices.
  • Coordinate professional development aligned to district and state goals.
  • Promote innovative instructional practices and integration of academics.
  • Expand opportunities for internships, apprenticeships, and work-based learing.
  • Support student attainment of industry-based certifications and dual credit.
  • Promote Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industry, and postsecondary institutions.
  • Collaborate with workforce and community stakeholders to align programs with labor market demands.
  • Promote CTE programs through outreach, marketing, and community events.
  • Monitor student achievement, program outcomes, and certification attainment.
  • Ensure accurate reporting (e.g., PEIMS data) and program documentation.
  • Conduct needs assessments and use data to improve program effectiveness.
  • Report to Board of Trustees required information regarding instructional initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Develop and maintain systems for retrieval of information in support of all programs; compile, maintain, file, and secure all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents.
  • Pursue Professional Development activities for self and assigned staff; ensure that Professional Development activities are aligned with District goals and initiatives and current professional research.
  • Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.
  • Comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
  • Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.
