About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating emergency management activities within the school district. It involves planning, organizing, and implementing emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. The role requires collaboration with various departments and external agencies to ensure the safety and security of students and staff during emergencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in emergency management or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing emergency plans.
• Knowledge of emergency response protocols and procedures.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in crisis situations.
• Proficiency in relevant software and technology for emergency management.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CEM).
• Experience in a large organizational setting, such as a school district.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive emergency management plans.
• Coordinate emergency response activities during critical incidents.
• Conduct training and drills for staff and students on emergency procedures.
• Liaise with local, state, and federal emergency management agencies.
• Manage resources and assets related to emergency preparedness.
• Oversee the maintenance of emergency communication systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
