About The Position

The Coordinator - Instructional supports teaching excellence and faculty success through the design, coordination, facilitation, and evaluation of professional learning opportunities and instructional initiatives. This position collaborates with faculty, academic leaders, and campus partners to develop and implement faculty development programs that advance effective teaching practices, instructional innovation, student success, and institutional priorities. The Coordinator - Instructional serves as a key resource for faculty onboarding, professional learning, instructional leadership initiatives, and emerging trends in teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, instructional technology, or related field.
  • 3 years of teaching, training, faculty development, or instructional support experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong background in effective teaching and instructional design methodologies including writing objectives, lesson planning, developing curriculum, evaluation and assessment, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Open Educational Resources (OER).
  • Experience in integrating instructional technology into teaching and learning processes.
  • Experience with online or Web-supported learning through a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Experience with designing and delivering presentations, workshops, and/or trainings.
  • Strong professionalism and confidentiality with all levels of staff.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in education, instructional design, educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, instructional technology, or related field.
  • 5 or more years of teaching, faculty development, or instructional support experience.
  • Experience in higher education faculty development or teaching and learning center environments.
  • Experience facilitating faculty learning communities, mentoring programs, or professional learning initiatives.
  • Canvas Learning Management Systems experience.

Responsibilities

  • Research, evaluate, and support the implementation of current and emerging trends in pedagogy, faculty development, instructional technology, educational innovation, and teaching and learning, including artificial intelligence.
  • Design, develop, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate faculty onboarding, mentoring, and ongoing professional development programs, workshops, courses, learning communities, and resources for faculty and staff related to teaching, learning, instructional technology, and institutional priorities.
  • Provide consultation, training, and support to faculty related to effective teaching practices, student engagement, instructional improvement, instructional technology adoption, and professional growth across instructional modalities.
  • Develop and deliver Learning Management System (LMS) training and support for faculty, staff, and other college stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Center for Teaching & Learning Excellence (TLE) team members, academic departments, and campus partners to develop faculty development programs, instructional resources, and learning experiences that support teaching excellence and student success.
  • Coordinate and support faculty development initiatives related to institutional priorities, including accessibility, student success initiatives, online learning, Open Educational Resources (OER), Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC), instructional innovation, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate faculty learning communities, mentoring programs, communities of practice, and other collaborative professional learning opportunities that foster faculty engagement, growth, and success.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data related to faculty participation, program effectiveness, and professional development outcomes to support continuous improvement and institutional decision-making.
  • Maintain communication related to faculty development opportunities, including responding to inquiries and developing promotional, informational, and instructional materials.
  • Contribute to the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (TLE) operations, shared faculty support spaces, committees, workgroups, and institutional initiatives.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
