About The Position

This role is focused on strengthening Indigenous youth mental health leadership and growing Jack.org's Indigenous programming. The Coordinator will support Indigenous youth in becoming confident mental health advocates and create culturally relevant opportunities for them to connect, learn, and lead. The position involves building meaningful relationships with Indigenous youth, educators, schools, community organizations, and partners across Canada. The Coordinator will be responsible for bringing programs to life by coordinating logistics, managing communications, facilitating workshops, and supporting youth engagement activities. They will also contribute to the development and adaptation of innovative, youth-centered, and culturally responsive programming in collaboration with the Manager, Indigenous Portfolio. The ultimate goal is to contribute to Jack.org's mission of improving youth mental health across Canada by supporting Indigenous youth engagement and ensuring programs are delivered with care, respect, and cultural responsiveness.

Requirements

  • One to two (1–2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with Indigenous youth; lived experience within an Indigenous community is strongly preferred.
  • Experience coordinating programs, events, or community initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and culturally responsive approaches.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment with multiple priorities.
  • Experience supporting youth engagement, education, or community programming.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Salesforce, Absorb LMS, Alchemer, Asana, and/or Google Workspace.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, public speaking, or leading group discussions.
  • Working proficiency in French.
  • Understanding of the mental health landscape for young people in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support Indigenous-focused activities across Jack.org programs, including Be There, Jack Chapters/Communities, Jack Talks, and other initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Indigenous youth participating in Jack.org programming.
  • Coordinate program logistics, scheduling, communications, registrations, and participant support.
  • Facilitate workshops, collaborative sessions, and other virtual and in-person youth engagement opportunities.
  • Help create welcoming, inclusive, and culturally respectful spaces where Indigenous youth feel safe, heard, and valued.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous youth, schools, post-secondary institutions, community organizations, and other partners.
  • Support outreach efforts to increase Indigenous youth participation across Jack.org programming.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships that strengthen community engagement and program impact.
  • Maintain accurate program records and participant information in Salesforce.
  • Respond to inquiries from youth and community members through email and other communication channels.
  • Coordinate surveys and support culturally appropriate evaluation activities, including sharing circles and other community-informed approaches.
  • Assist with tracking participation, collecting feedback, and supporting program reporting.
  • Support the Manager, Indigenous Portfolio with administrative tasks related to program planning, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the adaptation and development of program content to ensure it is engaging, culturally relevant, and youth-centered.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Jack.org to support high-quality program delivery and organizational initiatives.
