About The Position

The Civil Practice at The Legal Aid Society (LAS) has an opening for a Coordinator in the Grants & Contracts (G&C) department. The Coordinator will report to the Deputy Director of G&C. Under their supervision, the Coordinator will handle day-to-day tracking of contract compliance, preparation of programmatic reports, check requests, audit/site visit preparation, and other contract management support. This position is ideal for someone interested in non-profit administration and grants management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of work experience or the equivalent of 6+ years of post-secondary education and work experience
  • Highly self-motivated and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately and quickly gather data, compile information, and keep accurate records, prepare statistical and narrative reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables), and demonstrated ability to work with databases
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
  • Ability to manage relationships, effectively communicate with staff, and collaboratively work with others
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quantitative and narrative reports for timely submission to funders
  • Track all aspects of contract compliance including deadline management and contract performance
  • Maintain knowledge of contracts and associated requirements within G&C Immigration team portfolio
  • In conjunction with G&C Immigration team, represent LAS in correspondence and meetings with key external contacts and contract staff
  • Assist in managing Immigration grants and contracts with program leaders and coordinators
  • Collaborate with G&C team on best practices for contract management
  • Prepare check requests and agreements for partner agencies and subcontractors
  • Assist G&C team and Supervising Attorneys in all aspects of audit/site visit preparation
  • Collaborate with the Immigration Law Unit, Deputy Directors of G&C, and Grant Writer on applying for new funding opportunities for Immigration
  • Participate in continuous professional development
