About The Position

The Coordinator, Expanded Learning Programs, Operations provides operational support by guiding and advising Beyond the Bell staff, site administrators, and contracted program providers on Expanded Learning Programs, including matters related to school safety, emergency preparedness and response, student attendance, child abuse reporting, student discipline, facilities, equity, and compliance issues.

Requirements

  • At least eight (8) years of successful, full-time public school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than two (2) years of which must have been in a leadership position(s) (e.g. coordinator, instructional coach, dean)
  • A valid California Administrative Services Credential
  • An earned master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university
  • Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework

Nice To Haves

  • School-based leadership experience, preferably at the principal level in grades K-12
  • Strong leadership, team building, and performance management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in operational matters including: School safety and site facilities
  • Knowledge of California Education Code and experience dealing with law enforcement personnel and related agencies in conjunction with District and school matters
  • Knowledge of employee misconduct policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of child abuse reporting and procedures
  • Knowledge of sexual harassment procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of District policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
  • Strong and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of community organization systems
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and utilize data for short- and long-range planning and program evaluation to measure effectiveness, to inform professional development, and propose modifications in systems and procedures
  • Experience in building staff capacity
  • Experience with computer and various software programs and District applications
  • Ability to lead professional development and training for large and small groups
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the District, as appropriate, to perform assigned duties
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule to align with Expanded Learning Program hours of operation
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance, technical assistance, and day-to-day operational support to Beyond the Bell staff, school administrators, and community-based organizations on school operations, safety, emergency preparedness, student attendance, child abuse reporting, student discipline, and compliance with equity and regulatory requirements
  • Serves as a point of contact for operational escalations and urgent issues, coordinates incident response, risk and threat assessments, and crisis team implementation, and ensures appropriate follow-up and documentation
  • Monitors, analyzes, and manages operational data, including attendance, incident reports, employee misconduct, mandatory trainings, and emergency drill completion rates to ensure program compliance and successful completion of requirements
  • Coordinates and delivers staff training, on-boarding, and professional development for Beyond the Bell personnel and program providers on operational procedures, emergency protocols, and student support practices
  • Develops, updates, and disseminates operational protocols, guidance documents, and tools; supports the implementation of new initiatives, policies, or systems impacting Expanded Learning Program operations
  • Works with internal District departments (e.g., Facilities, Risk Management, Transportation, Student Mental Health) to resolve operational issues, coordinate logistics, support field trips, and ensure smooth program operations across Expanded Learning Programs
  • Collaborates with District departments to implement school safety resolutions and best practices to ensure student and staff safety
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Benefits

  • Salary: 41G, (School Support Administrator, 0515) – A Basis ($141,102 – $176,010) – 261 paid days
  • Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority-based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.
  • This position is deemed certificated under Education Code Section 44065, but may not qualify for "creditable service" under Education Code Section 22119.5 for CalSTRS benefits. However, if the candidate chosen for the position is already a CalSTRS member, he/she can fill out an election form to remain in CalSTRS and thereby obtain CalSTRS credit for this service.
