About The Position

The Credential Professional Learning Coordinator is a vital role within our Teaching and Learning-CLDE department. You will be responsible for delivering professional development and training, primarily through quarterly CLDE Credential courses, to empower our teachers and leaders with the skills and knowledge to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for our diverse student body.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with a focus on Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in CLDE and a passion for promoting equity and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire adult learners.
  • Proficiency in using various teaching methods and technologies for online and in-person instruction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently manage projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in managing course logistics.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a growth mindset.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity, with an understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Valid teaching certification or the ability to obtain one within the first year of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach quarterly CLDE Credential courses, both in-person and online.
  • Facilitate an engaging and inclusive learning environment for professional development sessions.
  • Grade and provide constructive feedback on course assignments and assessments.
  • Manage course logistics, ensuring a smooth and efficient learning experience.
  • Stay updated on best practices and research in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director to align professional development with district goals and the Office of Civil Rights agreement.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to teachers post-training, ensuring sustainable implementation of CLDE practices.
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluate the impact of professional development initiatives.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with teachers, school leaders, and district leaders.
