About The Position

Provides individual psychotherapy to individuals 18 years and older, including diagnostic psychosocial evaluation, development of comprehensive treatment plans, ongoing therapy, and crisis intervention. The provider bills for counseling services. This role also serves as the Coordinator of the Cancer Support Community at Prisma Health, involving the development and implementation of programs focused on healthy living, counseling, group support, social support, and education for individuals impacted by cancer. The coordinator works with consultants, staff, and volunteers to execute these programs. The position requires functioning effectively as an inter-disciplinary healthcare team member, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and facilitate patient needs resolution, all in accordance with accepted standards of professional practice and Prisma Health System policies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work
  • Three (3) years Oncology experience
  • Currently licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by the State Board of Social Work Examiners.
  • Ability to collaborate with other disciplines
  • Communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manages administrative duties related to the corporate Cancer Support Community.
  • Procures and manages programmatic and research grants from the Cancer Support Community and monitors their implementation.
  • Assumes a leadership role in facilitating meetings and comprehensive care planning with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provides clinical supervision for master's level students seeking clinical hours.
  • Collaborates with the team in assessing department needs and designing systems to meet strategic initiatives.
  • Identifies programmatic and/or research grants suitable for the Cancer Institute.
  • Conducts grants to completion, including coordination of budgetary deliverables, IRB submissions, and database/Epic integration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
