About The Position

Defence Construction Canada (DCC) is seeking a senior-level Coordinator, Construction Services (Construction Contract Manager) to oversee a variety of infrastructure projects. This role involves managing construction, professional services, and service contracts from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with requirements and quality expectations. The position requires strong skills in contract administration, communication, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will contribute to delivering infrastructure solutions that support Canada's national defence.

Requirements

  • College diploma in engineering, applied science, or a related field.
  • Six years of relevant experience (or an equivalent mix of training and experience).
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, legislation, and industry best practices.
  • Expertise in project, contract, and risk management principles.
  • Ability to interpret drawings/specifications and use relevant software tools.
  • Ability to build trust, give functional guidance, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • University degree in engineering or architecture.
  • Certification such as Certified Engineering Technologist or P. Eng.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a variety of construction, professional services, and service contracts during all stages of construction.
  • Managing and administering moderate- to high-complexity construction contracts typically exceeding $25 million in value, including professional service design contracts.
  • Monitoring schedules, solving day-to-day issues, managing stakeholders, and contract communication.
  • Reviewing progress claims, negotiating scope changes, and interpreting contract documents with contractors, consultants, and Client-Partners.
  • Identifying and addressing contract risks within delegated authority.
  • Coordinating activities with site teams and other service lines.
  • Maintaining detailed site records, including photos, activity updates, and documentation.
  • Ensuring health, safety, and industrial security requirements are met.
  • Coordinating consultant reviews and third-party testing.
  • Managing contract financials and supporting business development opportunities.
  • Building strong, professional relationships across industry partners, Client-Partners, and internal teams.
