About The Position

The role coordinates and analyzes career development and transfer data, including student assessments and employment trends, to support program development and strategic decision-making. Facilitates process improvements and service enhancement, using data-driven insights to identify trends and measure effectiveness. The incumbent also serves as the unit’s lead liaison collaborating with colleagues from new student orientation and academic advising to support the new student onboarding process.

Requirements

Bachelors degree required and three years of experience related to career counseling or career education, human resources, or similar fieldOr a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Such as those listed above.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and analyzes career development and transfer services data: Serves as the unit’s lead for program review and assessment and represents the unit on the OSSEM Assessment Committee. Gathers, organizes, and analyzes data related to student outcomes, employment trends, transfer success rates, and performance metrics. Translates findings into clear, actionable insights and data narratives that inform strategic decision-making, demonstrate impact, and guide program improvement.
Facilitates process improvements and service enhancements: Applies data insights to evaluate initiatives, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement targeted enhancements aligned with student needs and institutional priorities. Partners across departments to strengthen data collection and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and supporting continuous improvement in service delivery.
Serves as New Student Onboarding liaison: Serve as the career and transfer lead in collaborating with colleagues from new student orientation and academic advising to support the new student onboarding process. Responsible for delivering presentations on career development and transfer services during onboarding events. This role demands excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to convey these services, address student inquiries, and assist students in selecting classes.
Collaborates to design and implement career and transfer programming: Partners with the Assistant Director and team leaders to develop, coordinate, and deliver both college-wide and location-specific initiatives—including workshops, classroom presentations, and events—that support student career exploration, transfer planning, and professional development.
Engages key stakeholders and evaluates programming: Conducts outreach to students, faculty, and staff to increase awareness of career and transfer pathways. Collects and analyzes feedback to assess the effectiveness of career and transfer programs.
Develops work-readiness and transfer resources: Creates materials, collateral, online tools, and self-guided resources to support student career exploration, transfer planning, and work-readiness development.
Provides career and transfer advising: Offers guidance to students on career paths, majors, and transfer options to four-year institutions. Administers and interprets career and transfer assessments to align student skills and interests with academic, appropriate four-year institutions, and employment opportunities.
Travel to all HACC locations regularly, conduct regular group and individual meetings with colleagues, and consistently receive feedback from stakeholders to maximize the effectiveness of all career development and transfer services activities.
Will support the use of career development platforms and other institutional systems to advance the unit’s efforts in employer partnerships, student employment, and transfer services.
Performs additional duties as assigned: Completes other tasks as needed to support the mission and operations of the Career Development and Transfer Services unit.
