About The Position

The Career Development Center Coordinator is a vital role in the Unit's operations and outreach. The coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for all employers, jobs, and student and event interactions on the employment platform, Handshake. Additionally, the coordinator serves as a direct resource for student and employer questions regarding the use of Handshake or engagement in the Center's events and activities. 50% of the coordinator's role is to assist the Assistant Director of Employer Relations with event coordination tasks. The remaining 50% supports the Director by conducting budget reconciliation, purchasing and bid solicitation, and specifically maintaining and reconciling P-Card purchases, Banner/Oracle transactions, and MT Source documentation, as well as managing invoices, purchases, MT Source vendors, travel, annual recurring memberships, and travel authorizations for all departmental staff. Reconcile the budget accounts for the Career Development Center operating, revenue, career closet, and foundation accounts. Maintain staff onboarding and exit information by preparing and submitting all hiring and termination paperwork, as well as preparing all PAFs and PEFs. The coordinator will also serve as the faculty point of contact on presentation requests and support the advising team in appointment reporting within the University system. The coordinator serves as the lead on Career Closet management and assists with managing the main career email inbox. They will also provide oversight of the main office area and interact with any internal and external customers that come into the office. The coordinator will communicate verbally and in writing to secure on- and off-campus reservations for event management, including, but not limited to, rooms, equipment, delivery of goods, food, and other items to meet event goals. Perform other related tasks and assigned special projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency.
  • Four years of progressively responsible accounting, accounts payable, clerical, office management, or event planning experience.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or an associate's degree (two years of college coursework) and two years of related experience may be considered.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or eligibility for U.S. employment is required before employment (Immigration Control Act of 1986).

Responsibilities
