About The Position

The Coordinator of Advanced Practice Provider Clinical Education - APRN serves as a member of the Ministry education team and functions as an instructor and facilitator in the delivery of Ministry-wide education, professional development programs, and fellowships for advanced practice nurses and physician assistants. The Coordinator also functions to support clinical education and innovation of the intra-professional team. Acts as a consultant to the education departments of Ministry hospitals and ambulatory departments to develop annual education plans, competencies, and the promotion of innovative education modalities for advanced practice.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in advanced practice registered nurse (APRN)
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) and an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) in IL.
  • Board certification as an RN and APRN by appropriate accrediting body
  • Knowledge of the content, intent and application of regulations, policies and standards applicable to the business function(s) under designated scope of authority.
  • Knowledge of the principles, standards, and technology applicable to education, simulation, and research.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of continuous process/performance improvement.
  • Ability to convey information effectively in verbal and written communication and through group/business presentations.
  • Ability to use automated systems/applications/software and office equipment at an acceptable level of proficiency.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry in general, and of the vision, values and strategies of OSF.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.
  • Ability to keep abreast of trends in contemporary education techniques, simulation, and evidence-based practice.
