About The Position

Finger Lakes Health is seeking an experienced Clinical Education Coordinator (RN) to lead education, competency, and professional development initiatives across their acute care settings. In this collaborative leadership role, the coordinator will partner with nursing leaders to ensure teams have the necessary knowledge, skills, and confidence for exceptional patient care. This role also involves serving as the Stroke Program Coordinator, advancing the Primary Stroke Center through interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based practice.

Requirements

  • BSN
  • Recent Experience in Critical Care/ICU and ER
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 4 years of acute care nursing experience.
  • At least 1 year of leadership or management experience.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (obtained through the RQI system during clinical orientation).
  • Moderate Sedation competency within six months of hire.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and evidence-based practice.
  • Experience developing educational programs and evaluating competency.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree or Currently enrolled and pursuing a Master's Degree
  • Formal teaching or clinical education experience.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission and New York State Department of Health standards for acute care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing education and competency programs.
  • Conduct educational needs assessments and create learning opportunities based on identified needs.
  • Coordinate orientation, continuing education, annual competencies, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and support professional growth for nursing staff.
  • Partner with nursing leadership to improve quality, patient safety, and staff engagement.
  • Serve as a clinical educator, consultant, facilitator, and change agent throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate and support Finger Lakes Health's Primary Stroke Center program in collaboration with administration, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure educational programs support regulatory and accreditation standards.
