About The Position

Oak View Group is hiring a part-time Cook for Kansas Athletics Performance Dining. The Cook contributes to the Performance Dining Program and premium game-day catering by preparing menu items with a variety of cooking equipment in a fast-paced kitchen. The role requires consistently delivering high-quality food while meeting standards for taste, presentation, portion control, and food safety. The Cook also helps minimize food waste and maintains a clean, sanitary workspace. The hourly pay range is $14.00–$18.00. Benefits for part-time roles include a 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matching. The position will remain open until December 31, 2026.

Requirements

Previous cook or prep cook experience is highly preferred.
Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment, including a broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife.
Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with employees, coworkers, volunteers, management staff, and guests.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests.
Prepare hot and cold foods according to company recipes and portioning requirements.
Work as part of a team in food preparation, service, and product delivery.
Report kitchen equipment maintenance needs.
Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking.
Portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for delivery to guests.
Consult with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption.
Meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
