About The Position

Alto Clermont is hiring a Full-Time Cook with full shift availability to join our culinary team. This is a role for a skilled, dependable kitchen professional who can work across multiple shifts and takes genuine pride in every plate — in a vibrant senior living community where the dining experience truly matters. The primary responsibility of the Cook is to prepare food of the highest quality and taste for residents and guests of the Community ensuring that the food presentation enhances the dining experience of the residents and guests.

Requirements

  • ServSafe certification — required
  • Full shift availability — days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and takes genuine pride in culinary quality
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be flexible/adaptable, pay attention to detail, and have a sense of teamwork.
  • Must possess good time management skills and a keen awareness of safety.
  • Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior living or high-volume kitchen experience — strongly preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year related cooking experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Some software and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious, appetizing meals according to approved menus and recipes
  • Maintain top-tier food safety and ServSafe sanitation standards throughout every shift
  • Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and properly stocked
  • Collaborate with the dining team to deliver smooth, efficient meal service
  • Be a dependable, skilled presence across all shifts as needed
  • Prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented making each meal service an exceptional occasion.
  • Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook.
  • Prepare high quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes. Consistently adhere to the standard recipes, the budgeted costs and Company policies.
  • Supervise and/or assist in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils. Properly maintain all kitchen equipment. Monitor water temperatures and/or chemical compounds as appropriate to ensure the prevention of foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
  • Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
