About The Position

Cook for residents who'll know your name at The Shores in Ocean City, NJ. The Shores, a United Methodist Communities senior living community, is hiring a Cook for our dining team. This role involves creating and preparing quality meals that are appealing, well-balanced, and served promptly to residents and guests. You will maintain safe food handling practices throughout preparation, storage, service, and kitchen cleanup. Using standardized recipes and serving guidelines will help support consistency, minimize waste, and promote efficient operations. You will also assist with meal service across dining venues, community events, catered functions, and special programs, while helping to maintain an organized, sanitary, and safety-focused kitchen environment. Contributing to a positive dining experience through teamwork and attention to detail is key.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 18 years of age or older
• 1–2 years of cooking or meal preparation experience
• Able to read recipes and safety instructions and communicate with the care team in English
• Requires a drug test and background check
• Flu vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions may be requested
• Applicants for this position must be able to produce a negative drug test.
• Applicants may be subject to a background check.
