Cook 6am-2pm $16-22.25 (Part Time)
About The Position
Arrow Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at Fremont located at 1520 E. Bates, Springfield, MO 65804. This role is part-time, with shifts on Friday and Saturday from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. We are looking for someone who can prepare menu items according to established standards and recipes, ensuring high-quality, attractively presented food is served in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will also ensure health protocols are followed, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and maintaining correct food temperatures. Additionally, the Cook will familiarize themselves with residents' preferences and needs and participate in resident orientations.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
- Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in the areas of leadership, training, and supervision.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills with other members of management, professional, and support staff.
- Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable being in close contact with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
- Ability to work primarily indoors, but also be available to work outside for events.
- Must be criminally cleared.
Responsibilities
- Preparing all menu items according to established standards and recipes.
- Providing exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion.
- Ensuring health protocols are always followed, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures.
- Familiarizing yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs.
- Participating in resident orientations.
