About The Position
Arrow Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at Fremont in Springfield, MO. This part-time position offers a starting wage of $16 per hour and involves preparing high-quality, attractively presented menu items according to established standards and recipes in a timely fashion. The role also emphasizes maintaining health protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and food temperatures. A key aspect of this position is connecting with residents by familiarizing yourself with their preferences and needs, and participating in resident orientations.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
- Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in the areas of leadership, training, and supervision.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills with other members of management, professional, and support staff.
- Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
- Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Must be comfortable being in close contact with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
- Ability to work primarily indoors, but also be available to work outside for events.
- Must be criminally cleared.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes.
- Provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion.
- Ensure health protocols are always followed, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures.
- Familiarize yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs.
- Participate in resident orientations.
