About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at Summit in Little Rock, AR. This part-time position offers a starting wage of $15 per hour and a shift schedule of Monday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. As a Culinary Craftsman, you will prepare menu items according to standards and recipes, ensuring high-quality, attractively presented food in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for maintaining health protocols, including hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures, and familiarizing yourself with residents' preferences and needs.

Requirements

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in the areas of leadership, training, and supervision.
Proficient written and oral communication skills with other members of management, professional, and support staff.
Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
Must be comfortable to be in close contact to extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

Preparing all menu items according to established standards and recipes.
Providing exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion.
Ensuring health protocols are always followed, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures.
Familiarizing yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs.
Participating in resident orientations.
Working primarily indoors, but also being available to work outside for events.
