Requirements

  • 1–2 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant, event, or catering environment.
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking techniques and proper knife handling skills.
  • Ability to follow direction, learn quickly, and work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
  • Able to remain standing for the full duration of the shift.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary diploma or formal culinary training is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned tasks and responsibilities under the direction of the Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and/or General Manager.
  • Assist with the daily preparation of food in accordance with O&B standards and established kitchen procedures.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, cooking methods, and presentation specifications to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Complete assigned preparation duties and maintain an organized prep list for the station.
  • Follow the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to ensure product freshness and minimize waste.
  • Assist with food inventory, stock rotation, and product organization as directed.
  • Assist with properly receiving, checking, and storing delivered products.
  • Maintain clean and organized food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils throughout the shift.
  • Strictly follow all sanitation, food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety guidelines.
  • Follow WHMIS and MSDS requirements and procedures at all times.
  • Communicate any product shortages, quality concerns, or other issues to the appropriate member of the culinary team.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support an efficient and smooth service.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
