Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Experience with food preparation, cooking techniques, and institutional kitchen equipment
Current Food Handler’s Card or Food Safety Protection Manager Certification from an NMED-approved program required
Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to high-quality service

Nice To Haves

Institutional or healthcare food service experience preferred
Formal training in institutional food preparation is a plus

Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, chill, and serve a variety of nutritious meals and food items
Adhere to established procedures and food service standards while ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and regulatory guidelines
Ensure food quality, portioning, and presentation standards are met
Follow food safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines at all times
Safely operate institutional kitchen equipment and tools
Support patient dietary needs with accuracy and care
Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
Work collaboratively with the dietary team to ensure both patient and staff needs are met along with a timely meal service
