About The Position

Cypress Village is a senior living community in Jacksonville, Florida, managed by Life Care Services. The Cook prepares and serves food while maintaining community standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization. The role follows food quality, presentation, and nutritional requirements, including preparing prescribed diets according to policy and procedure. The Cook reports directly to the sous chefs.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least one year of restaurant, senior living, or equivalent cooking experience.

Nice To Haves

• Culinary degree preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain community standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization.
• Meet food quality, appearance, and presentation standards.
• Produce and serve menu-cycle programs that comply with required nutritional and dietary criteria and local regulations.
• Prepare prescribed diets according to policy and procedure.
• Cook with speed, accuracy, and efficiency, demonstrating knowledge of cooking preparation and production.
• Assist with meal service and ware washing as necessary.
• Periodically visit residents to evaluate food service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance, and conduct evaluations to identify operational or procedural improvements.
