About The Position

An upscale, resort-style senior living community is seeking a professional cook who wants a rewarding experience working with older adults. The cook prepares and serves food in accordance with menu, nutritional, dietary, food-quality, cleanliness, and sanitation standards. The position is part time, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and requires weekend availability. Pay is up to $19.50 an hour. Requirements

Strong interpersonal skills.
At least one year of culinary experience in a restaurant or senior living setting, or equivalent cooking experience.
Must be available to work weekends.

Responsibilities

Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
Maintain community standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization.
Adhere to food quality, appearance, and presentation standards.
Produce and serve menu-cycle programs that comply with required nutritional and dietary criteria and local regulations.
Prepare diets according to policy and procedure and meet dietary requirements established by physician orders, including substituting menu items.
Demonstrate knowledge of cooking preparation and production.
Assist with food production and ware washing as needed.
Evaluate food service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance, and revise operations or procedures to improve food service.
Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner and foster a positive kitchen environment.
Support a culture in which business decisions and employee engagement contribute to revenue and occupancy.
