About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare and serve delicious, nutritious meals for residents. The Cook prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and established Benchmark policies and procedures. The Food Services Director oversees these duties to ensure quality food service. The position offers reliable, schedule-stabilizing hours and requires a dedication to quality cuisine and a positive, energetic presence.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of dietary experience.
Knowledge of dietary procedures and related laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to food service operations.
Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand in one place for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

Assure all dietary procedures are followed.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including equipment such as meat slicers, food processors, mixers, ovens, grills, steamers, dishwashers, dumb waiters, and warmer cabinets.
Assist in establishing the food production line to ensure meals are prepared on time.
Represent the community with a positive attitude and pride when interacting with potential residents and families.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals, ensuring high-quality presentation and flavorful meals for residents.
