COOK (PART TIME)
About The Position
Morrison Living is hiring a part-time Cook at Brightmore of Wilmington in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Cook prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and company standards, guidelines, regulations, policies, and procedures, and ensures quality food service at all times. The position follows standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules, and ensures food is properly portioned, appealing, and served at the correct temperature. The Cook also maintains kitchen cleanliness and safe food-handling practices, operates and maintains kitchen equipment, assists with production planning and supply orders, and works cooperatively with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers. The schedule is Monday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; further details are provided during the interview. The pay range is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour. Prior line cook experience and healthcare food service experience are required.

Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality food according to standardized recipes and instructions and meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
- Serve meals or prepare them for delivery, using correct portions, meeting standards, ensuring proper temperatures, and maintaining an attractive presentation; taste prepared food items.
- Follow established ticket collection procedures and maintain records for the work area during service periods.
- Clean the kitchen after preparation and service, maintain cleanliness, and store or discard excess food according to safe food-handling procedures.
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat and store food and supplies according to standards.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
- Assist with production planning, record keeping, and reporting.
- Assist with ordering and receiving food and supplies.
- Immediately report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor.
- Attend in-service and safety meetings.
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
- Work safely and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, and follow HACCP standards.
- Follow company safety policies, including using the specified protective gloves, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
