The NOLS Patagonia Cook is expected to assist the head cook with all tasks related to organizing and preparing high-quality meals for 80 people, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and packed meals. Proficiency in national and international cuisine, as well as baking and pastry skills, is required. Cooks are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the entire kitchen—including utensils, shelving, fixtures, floors, and dining areas—as well as equipment such as stoves, ovens, grills, serving lines, refrigerators, and storage areas. They must manage inventory and ensure the kitchen remains organized. Cooks must work collaboratively and efficiently to manage kitchen waste sustainably, integrating these efforts into environmentally responsible practices shared with other NOLS Patagonia departments.
