About The Position

The Cook prepares and serves food in accordance with standardized recipes and menus, ensuring appropriate preparation and portioning. The role uses cooking knowledge and experience with cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware, including grilling, baking, and boiling. The Cook adheres to sanitation and food-safety standards, keeps the kitchen clean, and prepares food promptly for scheduled meal times. The position is weekends only and part time. Brookdale notes opportunities for career advancement into roles such as Lead Cook, Sous Chef, and Manager of Dining Services.

Responsibilities

Prepare, portion, and serve food according to standardized recipes and menus.
Use cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware and apply cooking methods such as grilling, baking, and boiling.
Follow sanitation and food-safety standards and maintain a clean kitchen.
Prepare food in a timely manner for specified meal times.
