Weekend Warrior Cook $21-$25.50 (Full Time)
About The Position
Arrow Senior Living is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our team at Vitalia Active Adult Community in Solon, Ohio. This full-time position offers a starting wage of $21-$25.50 per hour. The Cook will be responsible for preparing all menu items according to established standards and recipes, ensuring exceptional quality, attractive presentation, and timely service. A key aspect of this role is maintaining health protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and correct food temperatures. The Cook will also act as a Culinary Connector, familiarizing themselves with residents' preferences and needs, and participating in resident orientations. This role is crucial in creating a positive and enjoyable dining experience for our residents.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
- Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in the areas of leadership, training, and supervision.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills with other members of management, professional, and support staff.
- Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Must be comfortable being in close contact with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
- Ability to work primarily indoors, but also be available to work outside for events.
- Must be criminally cleared.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes.
- Provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion.
- Ensure health protocols are always followed, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures.
- Familiarize yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs.
- Participate in resident orientations.
