About The Position

Carefree Living in McGregor is seeking a reliable and motivated part-time Cook to join its established and growing assisted living community. The Cook prepares, cooks, and serves meals for residents and staff while maintaining quality, consistency, and food safety standards. The role also involves maintaining kitchen and dining room cleanliness, following sanitation and infection-control procedures, and promoting a safe environment for staff, residents, and visitors. The schedule is part-time, with AM/PM shifts.

Requirements

• Ability to follow infection-control and sanitation procedures, including proper handwashing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with residents, coworkers, and visitors.
• Must pass a criminal background study.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals for residents and staff while maintaining quality, consistency, and food safety standards.
• Follow food-handling, safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures, including proper handwashing.
• Maintain kitchen and dining room cleanliness, including dishwashing and end-of-shift cleanup.
• Promote and uphold OSHA safety practices to help ensure a safe environment for staff, residents, and visitors.
• Manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities with professionalism and good judgment.
