About The Position

The Cook ensures efficient, timely, and friendly service to residents and staff. The role maintains proper sanitation and safety procedures and prepares and presents high-quality food. The Cook orders, receives, and rotates stock in conjunction with the Food Service Director; reads and follows recipes to ensure consistency; and prepares and serves assigned breakfast, lunch, or dinner items. The Cook also helps meet or exceed resident dining expectations and performs other relevant duties as assigned by a supervisor.

This position is scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 AM to 6 PM.

Requirements

• At least one year of cooking experience, including some short-order cooking and quantity cooking.
• Possess Serv-Safe certification or be willing to obtain it upon hire.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing, and comprehend communications.
• Be willing to learn new food preparation techniques and presentation.
• Know residents' special dietary needs and the required meal preparation techniques.
• Work effectively as part of a team and display team-oriented behaviors.
• Effectively handle conflict or customer complaints.
• Focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Follow food safety and equipment safety procedures.
• Know and comply with community quality standards and requirements.
• Be able to prepare short-order food.
• Be dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work without constant supervision.
