About The Position

The Home in Walpole/Clifford Academy seeks a per-diem Cook for its residential and school campus, preparing breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, the Cook participates in planning seasonal cycle menus with The Home's Dietitian, prepares meals, manages food stocking and rotation, receives and stores food according to food safety standards, maintains a clean and organized kitchen, and completes required records for the school programs. Required records include food safety logs, daily breakfast and lunch production records, inventory records, and purchasing records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe certification.
• Food Allergy Training.
• Cooking skills and ability to follow USDA recipes and prepare meals from a cycle menu.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years working in a large cooking or kitchen environment.
• Prior experience working in a residential or institutional kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning seasonal cycle menus with The Home's Dietitian under the direction of the Food Services Manager.
• Cook and prepare meals as required.
• Stock food and rotate stock.
• Receive and store food in compliance with food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
• Maintain records required by DESE for school programs, including food safety logs, daily breakfast and lunch production records, and inventory and purchasing records.
