The cook assists with preparing menus, inventory control, and maintains a clean or organized safe kitchen environment. This position is responsible for preparing the food in an appetizing and appealing manner. The cook will also prepare food and coordinate food services for special community events when requested, notify the Dir. of Food and Beverage of any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances, and ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with infection control standards. Associates are expected to lead by example, encourage teamwork, attend community meetings, and complete required courses. They must also be familiar with reporting missing persons and fire evacuation procedures, and maintain a safe and secure environment for all community residents.
