Cook - Assessment Center
About The Position
The Cook prepares and serves meals, cleans up after meals, and ensures food is stored properly. The role also involves maintaining refrigerators, freezers, and other appliances; receiving food deliveries; picking up food and supplies as needed; and assisting with general facility cleaning. Other related duties may be assigned. The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week. BRC provides services to New Yorkers experiencing homelessness and describes its workplace as focused on employee wellbeing and development, with opportunities for staff to contribute to clients and grow personally and professionally.
Requirements
- Food protection certificate.
- TB clearance required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Vaccination preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals and clean up after meals.
- Store food properly.
- Maintain refrigerators, freezers, and other appliances.
- Receive food deliveries.
- Pick up food and supplies as needed.
- Assist with general cleaning of facilities as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
