About The Position

This role involves preparing a variety of food items using different cooking methods such as sautéing, broiling, frying, baking, and grilling. The cook will operate various kitchen equipment, perform preparation tasks, manage ingredient levels, and ensure stations are properly stocked. Maintaining a sanitary and organized work area, adhering to safety and health regulations, and demonstrating proper care of tools and equipment are key responsibilities. The position also requires competent product knowledge, preparation of food according to recipes, effective communication with team members, and assisting with other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Understanding of proper safety and health codes and regulations.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper care, storage, use, and cleaning of all tools and equipment.
  • Competent product knowledge, including correct storing and handling of perishables.
  • Ability to prepare food products according to standard recipes and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills with team members.
  • Ability to assist with assigned duties.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sautés, broiled, fried, baked, and grilled food items in accordance with kitchen needs.
  • Operate grill, fryer, broiler, oven, and French top in accordance with kitchen needs.
  • Perform preliminary preparation work in a timely manner.
  • Ensure ingredient supply levels are accurate.
  • Move items from shelves to carts and transport them to assigned stations for restocking purposes.
  • Maintain the required part of food items in their assigned station from support areas throughout the property.
  • Maintain a sanitary and organized work area.
  • Understand and regularly maintain proper safety and health codes and regulations.
  • Ensure all assigned areas are clean and free of debris.
  • Demonstrate proper care, storage, use, and cleaning of all tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate competent product knowledge by correct storing and handling of all perishables, maintaining quality, security, values, and integrity.
  • Prepare food products according to standard recipes and specifications and demonstrate positive responses to training by chefs.
  • Effectively communicate with other team members, including service and kitchen maintenance personnel.
  • Assist with any other job-related duties that may be assigned.
