About The Position

The cook is responsible for preparing assigned menu items according to standardized recipes and using HACCP guidelines. Other responsibilities include cleaning and daily maintenance of equipment; proper storage of food items and assistance with recipe development to meet departmental guidelines. This is a full-time position at Spring Creek Health Care Facility. Hours are 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., five days per week.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of weights and cooking units of measure.
  • Requires long hours of prolonged walking and standing in a hot, noisy environment.
  • Requires lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months of experience in food preparation/service or equivalent preferred
  • Drug Screen
  • Tuberculosis Test
  • Background Screening
  • Physical
  • Flu Vaccination (if hired during flu season)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one-year previous related experience in a public institution.
  • Supervisory experience helpful.
