About The Position

Carmel Terrace, a faith-based, nonprofit assisted living facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters, is seeking an experienced Cook for its assisted living community in Framingham, Massachusetts. The role follows a varied schedule of 6 a.m.–2 p.m. and 10 a.m.–6 p.m., including every other weekend. Compensation is $23–$24 per hour, based on skills and experience. The Cook prepares and handles food in accordance with applicable sanitation rules, standardized recipes, and special diet orders. The position also supervises kitchen staff and helps ensure meals and snacks are prepared and delivered on schedule. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of culinary skills and restaurant experience.
Cook-to-order experience.
Ability to follow production sheets and standardized recipes.
Organizational skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Supervise kitchen staff.
Handle and prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and local sanitary regulations.
Prepare food according to standardized recipes and special diet orders.
Meet meal and snack service schedules.
Ensure food is prepared, cooled, and stored according to corporate and applicable local, state, and federal guidelines.
Supervise and set up the steam table for Main Dining Room and trayline meal service to support organized, timely, and sanitary meal delivery.
Check outgoing food for proper amounts, types, and quality.
Properly care for dietary equipment.
Maintain compliance with OSHA, Department of Public Health, and Board of Health standards.
