About The Position

The Cook prepares food for residents, guests, and employees according to menus, recipes, and planned events. The role includes ensuring food is properly prepared, seasoned, portioned, and presented, maintaining sufficient prepared food, and keeping the kitchen station and equipment clean and ready for use. The Cook supports a positive, safe, and respectful environment for residents, families, guests, and coworkers. This is a part-time position scheduled from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or technical school.
At least three years of line cook experience and/or training.
Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees.
Prepare food according to the planned menu using standard recipes.
Plate food items according to portion guidelines and garnishing instructions.
Assist other kitchen staff as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Ensure sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared.
Notify the supervisor of shortages or outages.
Ensure foods served are fresh, properly cooked, and seasoned.
Stock and clean the station for the next shift.
Follow proper food rotation policies.
Maintain a positive attitude that supports a team environment.
Promote positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests.
Respect resident rights and help ensure residents' privacy, dignity, well-being, and safety.
Maintain safety by following universal precautions, safe work practices, fire, safety and disaster plans, risk management, sanitation, and security practices.
Clean and inspect kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
Wear a uniform and name tag and maintain a professional appearance.
