Requirements

  • Current Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain one)
  • Restaurant, hotel, banquet, catering, or commercial kitchen experience preferred
  • Experience with sauté, grill, broiler, breakfast, prep, or banquet cooking is a plus
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP principles
  • Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and production schedules
  • Strong communication skills and a positive team attitude
  • A passion for hospitality and creating memorable dining experiences
  • You work with urgency without sacrificing quality
  • You take pride in producing consistently great food
  • You stay calm and focused during busy meal periods

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals for both restaurant guests and banquet events
  • Set up and maintain your assigned station before each shift
  • Prepare meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces, and side dishes according to recipes
  • Execute breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquet production as assigned
  • Maintain consistency, presentation, and portion control on every plate
  • Support banquet production during weddings, conferences, meetings, and special events
  • Work closely with fellow cooks, chefs, stewards, and servers to ensure exceptional guest experiences
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout every shift
  • Prepare daily production lists accurately
  • Read and follow standardized recipes
  • Cook broiled, grilled, sautéed, roasted, and baked menu items
  • Inspect ingredients to ensure freshness and quality
  • Rotate and store food using proper food safety procedures
  • Monitor food temperatures for cooking, cooling, reheating, and storage
  • Follow all health department regulations and sanitation standards
  • Practice safe knife handling and proper equipment operation
  • Support restaurant and banquet operations during busy service periods
  • Assist teammates wherever needed to keep service running smoothly
