About The Position

OLV Human Services is looking to hire a Cook. This role involves overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring efficient meal preparation, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety for clients and students. The food service department aims to provide the highest possible quality of life by preparing healthy and nutritious meals in a safe and clean environment, while also accommodating personal choices and preferences. This position connects quality food services to all BVS programs.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years food service experience

Responsibilities

  • Cooks food in quantities according to standardized menus, recipes and number of persons to be served.
  • Follows medically prescribed diet modifications for individual clients.
  • Prepares and serves quality meals with consideration for nutritional adequacy, taste and presentation.
  • Prepares product for catering functions.
  • Maintains a sanitary work environment by following agency policies and NYS Health Department guidelines.
  • Operates and maintains food service equipment appropriately.
  • Washes and sanitizes dishes and cookware.
  • Performs all other job-related duties assigned by supervisor.
