About The Position

This position is responsible for all phases of meal preparation and kitchen operation in accordance with USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program requirements, Head Start/Early Head Start Nutrition Performance Standards, and New Mexico Child Care licensing regulations. The employee may be reassigned to different centers as needed for program operations and may be required to deliver meals to multiple Head Start Centers.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Kitchen experience, including food preparation and routine kitchen duties.
• Have or be able to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire; certifications must meet the requirements in the referenced training resources and remain current.
• Successful completion of a post-offer health exam and annual health exams thereafter, in accordance with PMS policies.
• Successful completion of a TB test and additional testing upon exposure, in accordance with PMS policies.
• Successful completion of required criminal background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Navajo skills are helpful.
• For assignment to Little Feet Child Development Center, preference and training and employment opportunities will be provided to Native Americans/Navajos to the greatest extent feasible.
