About The Position

The Cook (Pool / Family Entertainment Center Kitchen) is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving a variety of menu items in the Dellshire Resort’s poolside and family entertainment center outlets. This role ensures that all food is prepared to the resort’s quality standards, served in a timely manner, and presented with care. The Cook supports a fast-paced, guest-facing kitchen environment, maintaining consistency, safety, and cleanliness while contributing to a fun and energetic atmosphere for guests enjoying our family and recreation areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary training or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a fast-paced or high-volume kitchen; resort, pool, or amusement-style operation preferred.
  • Knowledge of grill, fryer, and short-order cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain quality during peak guest periods.
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and warm-weather seasons.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food items such as sandwiches, burgers, flatbreads, snacks, and other menu offerings according to Dellshire Resort recipes and standards.
  • Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and speed in all food orders to support high guest volume.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen areas, and equipment.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including labeling, dating, and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies prior to opening and maintain throughout the shift.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle guest requests and special orders with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Support daily prep, restocking, and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and disposing of waste properly.
  • Monitor portion sizes, cooking times, and presentation quality to maintain brand consistency.
  • Assist with inventory rotation and help report shortages or equipment issues.
  • Uphold Dellshire Resort’s standards for safety, guest satisfaction, and teamwork.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor including working in other kitchens.
