About The Position
The Cook prepares food according to recipes for patients/residents, employees, cafeteria patrons, and medical staff. The position works under direct supervision and is based at UH Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The schedule is 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, 40 hours per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Good interpersonal skills to meet and serve the public.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak and read English.
- Maintain a Food Handler’s Card.
- Ability to follow recipes, use scales, and operate large kitchen equipment.
- Ability to blend, twist, stoop, push, and lift large containers of hot food.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience preparing large quantities of food using standardized recipes.
