About The Position
UCCA is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare nutritious family-style meals for children and staff in our Head Start and Early Head Start programs while maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Serve Safe Certification required within six months of employment
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
Nice To Haves
- Six months to one year of related food service experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
- Assist with food inventory and supply organization
- Follow CACFP and program nutrition guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely
- Support a positive dining experience for children
