About The Position

Join the team at Methodist Home for Children’s new Juvenile Crisis and Assessment Center in Kinston, NC. We provide a safe, stable environment for youth ages 10–17, helping guide them toward brighter futures. We're currently hiring a Part-Time Cook to support this mission. This is more than a kitchen job—it’s a chance to be part of a supportive team that helps youth find stability and hope. Every meal you prepare helps create a better day for someone in need.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation (especially for large groups)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Willingness to complete required training (CPR, First Aid, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for youth and staff
• Plan menus that meet USDA and NC Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment
• Order and track food supplies
• Support cultural diversity in meal planning
