About The Position

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role requires a strong understanding of culinary techniques and an ability to maintain high standards of food quality and safety. The Cook collaborates with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service, contributes to menu development, and upholds cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. A passion for food and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience are essential.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
Knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Obtain and Maintain SNHD Health Card

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and components for dishes, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling sauces.
Cook menu items to order in a timely manner according to recipe standards, ensuring proper cooking techniques and presentation.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, managing inventory and ensuring that supplies are stocked.
Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation to ensure consistency and adherence to recipes.
Work closely with other kitchen staff, including chefs and other line cooks, to coordinate meal service.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean kitchen and prevent foodborne illnesses.
Address any kitchen issues that arise during service, such as equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots, and utensils, using dishwashing equipment.
Performs all other job-related duties as assigned
