About The Position

One Wingate East is a new Independent Living Community opening in August 2026. Wingate Living is more than just senior living; they are builders of lifestyles, friendships, and communities. The Job Purpose is to work closely with the Executive Chef to Director to provide residents with a high level of customer service while promoting a restaurant-style dining experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a Cook in a food service environment required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be willing to assist at another facility for coverage or help during an emergency; travel will be reimbursed.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of ServSafe certification course preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
  • Comply with quality and consistency of the food to include food temperatures, portion control, palatability and attractiveness of food.
  • Apply “5 Star” customer service approach in all aspects of job.
  • Perform defined work routines using various dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by supervisor.
  • Follow cleaning duties as assigned and scheduled.
  • Perform duties efficiently in order to accomplish tasks in allotted time.
  • Assist in the cleaning of the kitchen equipment, food storage area, and supply areas according to the facility schedule.
  • Remove garbage from the kitchen and to clean trash containers as needed.
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
  • Comply with schedule as established by supervisor and attend scheduled department staff meetings.
  • Complete ongoing in-services, training and education.
  • Be compliant with and maintain all regulatory documentation on dining standards to ensure Federal, State and Local regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Report to the appropriate managers any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations or standards of conduct.
  • Commit to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
  • Actively support Wingate’s commitment to providing “5 Star” service on all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
