About The Position

Paul’s Run Retirement Community, part of the Liberty Lutheran Family of Services, is seeking a full-time Cook Supervisor for its Dining Services team in Northeast Philadelphia. The Cook Supervisor helps oversee daily food production in the Grill, ensuring meals are prepared safely, consistently, and on time while providing excellent service to residents. The role works in collaboration with other Cook Supervisors and the Executive Chef and follows a schedule of 11:30 AM–7:30 PM, including every other weekend.

Requirements

Previous experience as a cook or chef.
Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes, written instructions, and workplace procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to present information clearly to individuals and small groups.
Good judgment and the ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
Commitment to food quality, safety, teamwork, and excellent customer service.

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate food production in the Grill in collaboration with other Cook Supervisors and the Executive Chef.
Prepare menu items according to established recipes and ensure meals meet quality standards and service timelines.
Train new food service team members and cooks assigned to the Grill.
Develop food production worksheets and lead daily production meetings based on the weekly Grill menu.
Enforce food safety standards and ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines.
Respond to resident complaints and special requests with a positive, customer-focused approach.
Prioritize resident satisfaction by delivering friendly, attentive service and responding to individual needs.
