About The Position

Laurel Heights Hospital is a 112-bed facility located in Atlanta Ga. We are dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric, behavioral disorders and autism. A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

Requirements

  • Four years working experience as a cook in a similar setting working
  • Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile customer service interactions.
  • Must be able to adjust recipes to achieve desired results.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend recipes or instructions on prepackaged products.
  • Ability to read, convert and adjust mathematical measurements for recipe adjustments.
  • Must be able to use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers and dishwashers; knowledge of the essential hygiene factors involved in food preparation; knowledge of cleansing products and the appropriate methods of cleansing a variety of surfaces.
  • Must be able to work independently, in a restricted physical environment for extended periods of time.
  • Must have ability to perform several tasks concurrently.
  • Must have skills in maintaining information as highly confidential.
  • Successful completion of CPR certification, age-specific training and the current patient aggression management training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities
